I never understand the “Candy color Clown” scene
Greets from Germany!
She is hot and sexy wonna meet her gettop5.info
@mindstormsabrewin But it doesn’t matter. The art you create doesn’t belong to you, it belongs to everyone however they wish to interpret it. If you don’t like it, too bad. Art is used by other artists, it belongs to everyone.
Laura Dern sexy…this guy’s a maven.
@mindstormsabrewin Don’t forget John Waters. He messed with Link Wray in Pink Flamingoes! Arggghhh!
@muttilo Love to get one and put me out of my misery! I don’t have the courage fucker!
@beaconmike ILL SEND YOU A “LOVE LETTER” FUCKER !!!!!
you’re both wrong. it’s neither good nor bad. it’s just pizza.
@whbuckeye33
TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU
@whbuckeye33 Well… I am a musician. And I would be horrified if I heard something I created that was very personal and meaningful to me being used as a soundtrack to the kind of imagery found in some directors’ films. Of course they have the right to create whatever their instincts dictate. I just wish they’d consider that these songs are connected to great memories for many people. Perhaps “vulgar” wasn’t the right term. “Distasteful” might be closer to what I mean.
@mindstormsabrewin It’s not vulgar, it’s beautiful. You don’t know what you’re talking about, Lynch, Tarantino, and especially Scorcese are masters at using popular Music in their work. The soundtrack to Goodfellas is stunning. By juxtaposing the songs over the images in Blue Velvet, Lynch is showing us that the world it appears as (Music) is not how it seems (Images). It’s a stroke of genius. It’s vulgar for you to say it’s vulgar

@beaconmike You know, Lynch isn’t the only one to ruin beautiful songs. Tarantino and Scorsese shit all over people’s good youthful memories of their favorite songs. How can they as artists, disrespect other’s creations by juxtaposing horrifying images over such lovely soundtracks. I love their films but hate the misuse of these songs. It’s vulgar. These are important cultural artifacts that mean something to so many. They should hire composers to make something new for such scenes.
is very fun
@beaconmike
Hahahah man that sucks.
While I love the film, if you ever have wonderful memories of the song ‘Blue Velvet’ avoid watching this film at all costs. Here is the price you will pay if you do not heed my words. In High School in ’66, I had the dream date of my life to the Senior Prom. We were all dressed up. It was about our 2nd date. We slow danced for the first time to Blue Velvet. I was sexually aroused being that close to her. I fell in love. After seeing this film, my memory is now replaced with Frank Booth
Love this film. Keep telling my dad if he likes Lynch’s Twin Peaks, he should check this out, though my favorite from Lynch is Mulholland Dr., but I know A.O. Scott isn’t quite as enthuastic about it as I am. He couldn’t be more right though Blue Velvet isn’t obsecure like a good majority of his films. Its just the odd narrative of Mulholland Dr., where Lynch just got everything right for me.
“Blue Velvet” is completely brilliant! One of my all-time favorite films!
I can’t ever listen to Roy Orbison the same way.
